You guys are so spot on! I seriously thought I was the only one to feel this way. Mainly because I kept seeing the same types of characterizations in story after story. I've even gotten to the point in most fics where I actually pray H/D don't end up together. I've even gotten turned off by my usual go to author Lomonaaren and she's the one who turned me on to H/D. But after a while having to read over and over again how Draco has to do a complete 180 in order to be with the always morally right, can never do anything wrong Harry. I do have a fic suggestion though it is somewhat different.
I'm on my phone so can't link it directly but the story is called Renaissance by Lyons Own on ft.net. the first chapter may seem a little overwhelming with the different pronouns but you get used to it. The thing I like the most is that Draco is in character and Harry actually gets a mind of his own for once.
