One of the best fics I ever read is Redeem Me (http://www.thehexfiles.net/viewstory.php?sid=6442) by Samayel. Its mostly what you're looking for in that it has a vulnerable, almost broken down Draco who's been severely mistreated as well as a Powerful! Protective! Harry. Word of warning- this is pretty angsty and quite dark. But the characterizations are beyond brilliant, the story is a work of art and its very gripping. I'd definitely give it a go.
