I think it's impossible to write anything involving a humane-Voldemort and not cross the line into out of character. If I had written this more as a slavish devotion to beauty, a desire to protect and worship and caress Draco like fine art where emotions were far removed and instead Voldemort locked him away and treated him as a breakable masterpiece it might have worked more within the constraints of canon but I would have lost the myth in translation. I'm pleased that despite the cracks in character you still seemed to enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed writing it!
