I think I have finally read ONE out of to MANY stories with Harry being in the wrong...only somehow it turns out to be all Draco's fault!!?? Even when authors attempt to right the Boy-Who-Wouldn't-Freaking-Die in a grey, or even dark, light, it still feels that somehow Harry is right and everyone who opposed him (Usually Draco) is wrong, wrong, wrong!
Why!?
The fact that he had cheated, murdered, raped, threw a punch, provoked, etc. Just doesn't seem to matter anymore, as long as we are fully aware that it is Harry Freaking Potter (With sprinkling lights shinning and blinding in the background).
So far, I think I have read THREE stories that doesn't stray from Harry being in the wrong, or bad guy. THREE, out of thousands. That is very sad.
I get it. He was the Hero and Savior in the books. He was The Guy. BUT, I still have faith that the HP fandom is more creative then that. I need it proven, since my search (Over years, too) has come up with very few that can qualify for a genuinely bad Harry. I needs rec's, and am even willing to read General, as in actual general. No parings, and if they are, Draco is not to be paired with a girl. If the story is good enough, I want a warning for switching, and graphic het.
If you aren't sure, please don't be afraid to skim before recommending the story.
Qualifications for Bad Guy Harry Potter:
Heck, is their a community for this? There should be a community for this. Maybe something called 'The-Boy-Who-Died' or 'Dark Harry'. I don't know. Either way, there should be more stories with Harry sinking, and for once not get offered a million in one hands to help him up, or to give him excuses.
To be sure what I mean by excuses, MOST, or even some, in the story is NOT going to justify his actions. Ex. Well he was drunk, he only kissed her, he only had sex with him, mad, insane, bad childhood, got his toe step on...and so on.
Bad Harry means Bad Harry, guys.

Qualifications for Bad Guy Harry Potter:
- In NO WAY is he to be excused for his actions. As many people as possible (And yes, this includes his friends, the person he is dating, etc.) needs to know that he is wrong. No matter how much he cries, is hurt, and general making a pathetic image of himself, people needs to know with a clear head that He Is Wrong. (Killed the search right their, didn't it?)
- For parings, it is either General (No paring means no paring), HP/DM (It doesn't have to end this way. In fact, I prefer if it doesn't.), OMC/Draco, OMC/Harry. Het wise, I need a warning if Draco is in a graphic het paring, because I will likely not be reading, others might. Either they (Harry and Draco) are friends, Bros, Lovers in the story doesn't matter.
- Harry being condemned is optional, but preferable.
- Draco, for once in his life, isn't utterly blind by Harry's awesomeness(ess). Rivalry isn't enough. I need him to know Harry has faults, and not all of them Draco likes.
- Harry isn't made into a super hero, who has powers, and is a hero! Because he has powers...(>_>)
- Hate-Love relationships are AWESOME. But it needs to move further then just rough-sex. I like Plot with my Smot.

I can see why they thought this shouldn't have been recced here (Did they specifically say from this post???) since Harry is essentially forgiven. Which is not what I had wanted, at all.
It is still a very good read, but Harry is still given excuses for his actions. I didn't want that. And it didn't help matters that Draco didn't blame Harry, was still in love, and that he would have chosen his parents over Harry.
The last sentence is what has me hatting on the whole OTP thing. At least when it comes to those desperate measures. When it is Draco who molds himself (Giving up his parent, his views, his friends, and generally anything bad) to fit into Harry's life, nearly everyone is like 'well of course he should! He wrong Harry right!! Duh' instantly. Reverse the roles and suddenly it is absolutely horrible of Draco to make Harry do that, to the extreme.
I don't like that. In fact, I never liked that.
Either way, while I can see were you were going by making Harry suffer emotionally, it wasn't enough for what he did. Not by a long shot. Plus, the only reason he 'suffered' was because Draco had been taken away from him. As mentioned in the story, he didn't regret what he did. Only regretted that he had to destroy Draco to do it.
Maybe the gravity of the situation should have been weighed heavier.
