Fics: All the Proud Shall Be, part 1, and Firsts

Hiya! Fairly new author (to this fandom, not fandom in general) and someone told me I should try posting here. Apologies if I'm breaking some kind of rule. I've got two stories. The first is a novel-length epic that I'm working on now:
