Title: Single Wizard Seeking Same
Pairing: Harry/Draco
Category: Romance
Rating: R
Summary: Lovelorn Draco has been secretly pining for Harry for months. He’s finally forced into action when ex-boyfriend Blaise shows up. A gift!fic for Prof. McKitten starring an awkward, smitten Draco and a cameo by Harry’s chest monster.
Warnings: Oh, the fluff! The fluffy-wuffy fluff! Like being snuggled to death by a bunch of baby bunnies. Also warnings for clichés, possible OOCness and sex.
Boyd says "Click me to read, because I'm hot and sexy and sort of look like Draco, if Draco was a model. And American. But mostly, click me because I'm hot."

Date: 2006-06-06 12:55 am (UTC)I have to say, the ending was brilliant. I know you said in your author notes that you weren't quite sure how exactly it was going to end but you did it perfectly. Bringing Draco to the future to live out the life of his own great-grandson...that's some seriously impressive plot twisting and I am duly impressed.
I will admit to being a little bit of a wimp and skimming over the corporal punishment scenes...well, okay, not the sexy ones between Harry and Draco, those I read and drooled over, but the ones with Phineas...*shudders*. I couldn't read all of it. Congrats to you for being able to totally turn my stomach with the disgusting creepiness of that bastard. By the end of the story, I wanted him to DIE, and it's rare that I get that violent towards a character. He was SO AWFUL.
But dispite my wimpy moments (which really are testament to your writing skills, that your scenes were so gut-wrenching that I couldn't handle it), I loved the story. I liked the complication of Masochist!Draco; it added a new dimension. I think your story did a perfect job of subverting all the time travel cliches and if the one I'm working on now turns out half as good I'll be stoked.
Okay, I'll stop fangirling you now *g*.
Thanks again!

Date: 2006-06-06 03:29 am (UTC)And I'm so glad you liked how the ending came together. Writing the fic was a lot like setting up a lot of dominoes. I had planned it out, then stood them up, but once they start to fall you sort of hold your breath and hope they all go down. In this one, they did.
And here's a fangirl backatcha--I'm drooling in anticipation for "Vertigo" part 5.

Date: 2006-06-06 06:57 pm (UTC)You know, in some ways I think that made him a lot scarier. He's a creepy homophobic sadist who can't deal with his own sexuality and takes it out on children. *shudders* Monster, indeed. I hated him like I hate Delores Umbridge (whom I hate with the burning passion of a thousand fiery suns).
I have a lot of trouble writing villians, actually, so I'm always impressed to read other people's well-done ones. My villians tend to be...well, not that evil. Case in point: in Single Wizard Seeking Same, Blaise was pretty much the villian...and he's not really evil, just kind of catty and mean. Probably goes hand in hand with my difficulty writing angst.
Thanks again!

I frightened the cat I laughed so hard at this!

Date: 2006-06-06 12:57 am (UTC)i don't think there's anyone who hates possessive!Harry and scheming!Draco.
Lol, I think you're right. Lots of comments about hot possessive!Harry; he seems to be popular (and hey, he's canon!).
I'm glad you liked the fluff - I'm a fluff-lover myself, so I'm happy to pass on a little of the fluffy joy to others!
Thanks again!
