However, they aren't all always bottom!draco. There are some that are Top!Draco occassionally. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is the Bound Prince series. I believe Harry gets pregnant in that one. But, it's a really good series and you can usually skip the sex without hurting the story.
Draco and Harry are bound together and part of the magic requires Harry to have sex with Draco daily, but Draco isn't anything even remotely close to being a slave.
Also, if it matters considering the comm this is posted in: Draco tops Harry as much as, or even more often than, Harry tops Draco, (there is ALOT of sex in this series!) and yes, Harry spends much of the later books pregnant.
I don't destinguish between the two. I just gave the list that has all the Slave!Draco fics in them.
What is the difference between a slave fic and a bond fic? I always consided a bond to be something good and while the bond in the BP series ended up being good, it still was quite bad in the beginning because of the consequences. I would appreciate some clarrification if you have the time.
The reason I mentioned that not all of them were Top!Harry was because I read both and it doesn't matter to me who tops who so I don't make separate tags about them. I should though since I've found there are communities dedicated to both, but that would mean rereading a lot of fics and retagging even more lol I don't think there's enough time in a month to do that.
i think bond fics are more equal in terms of status, while slave fics has a master and slave relationship where bond fics don't always do. there are slave bond fics, but not all bond fics are slave fics.
I think that's why I thought BP was a slave fic. In the beginning the consequences for Draco were dire, but there were no (I beleive) consequences for Harry.
It's almost the same thing in her story "Shooting Star" only it's Top!Draco and Bottom!Harry.
I don't have a Top/Bottom preference, the only reason I mentioned it was because this is the Bottom_Draco comm and some people tend to get their panties in a twist if any switching occurs and they don't have proper warning.. LOL! (Actually I think the Bottom/Top debate is one of the most absurd ones in fandom, but to each their own...)
Slave Vs. Bond... (at least my understanding of the two...)
Bond Fics are stories in which magic has bound the two characters together. They may be stuck physically, emotionally, magically, sexually... etc. They may be required to spend their time within touching distance, they may be restricted to each other for companionship, and the bond may 'relax' with time. Anna Fugazzi's BOND is a perfect example. Usually the characters are fairly equal in terms of their relationship and top/bottom is usually never an issue, EXCEPT where the magic dictates. (Like in BP, Harry MUST penetrate Draco, it doesn't count if Draco penetrates Harry). There is no punishment issues and no D/s or BSDM unless it pops up in the characters everyday kinks/desires. All bond fics have dire consequences for the participants if the rules of the bond are not followed, i.e. they spend too much time apart and they start to feel physical symptoms. It could happen to one or the other or both. (Think Veela!mating fics... The Veela needs to be around his/her mate or they will decline physically, but the mate may or may not have to spend time with the Veela... they have a bond, but it's certainly not a Master/slave bond.)
Slave fics are stories in which one character takes possession of another. It could be physically, where the slave cannot be out of the Master's sight or sexually where the slave must service the Master's needs. Punishments usually play a large part of slave!fics and there are strong elements of D/s and/or BSDM. USUALLY the top/bottom issue is clear with the slave being the submissive partner.
I've always found that all slave fics are bond fics, but NOT all bond fics are slave fics. (I hope that made sense...)
Lol, I noticed that too. I've actually seen a couple comments where people really just go off because someone asks for a specific fic they didn't realize was Top!Draco or if someone suggests a Top!Draco story by accident. Yeah, you're right though to each his own, but that's why I always warn when I post a compiled list like that that there may be some in the list. That way they can't take my head off.
Yeah, actually, that does make sense. Thanks for explaining!
