Hello, I'm trying to find a fic wherein harry was adopted by the Malfoys before Hogwarts. i think it was mentioned that Narcissa and Lily were friends in the fic. Draco and Harry were close to each other. Harry doesn't live at the Malfoy manor but in a different house and Draco visits him every night(?) and they were doing thing/experimenting. And during the Hogwarts they drifted apart because of Harry.

And I think the fic is not finished.

Took me a bit to find it, but I'm pretty certain the fic you're looking for is Shadow and Light (http://archive.skyehawke.com/story.php?no=15821) by charlottesometimes. The first scene has stood out in my memory since I first read it. :)
