eta: I know that this would cause a greater timecrunch in setting things up, but I think September would be a better posting time. I'm pretty sure this fest isn't just H/D, but I think it's safe to say that the majority will be H/D, and October is when Fan Fair posts. Since Fan Fair is a pretty big/popular fest, I might be worried that the bottom!Draco readership.participation might be lower. Just something to think about, since I don't think there are any big H/D fests in September, it might be a better bet. :)
LOL, I almost suggested January too! I just know that last year, I barely managed to keep up with fan-fair, and as fan-fair is one of my fav H/D fests, it'd def take priority on my reading list, which would be unfortunate for this one. :)
Well from a creator perspective, I'm slow. And September is potentially too soon (as it would require August due) and most of fall is holiday writing. So something early next year gives time to find both a hole in fest posting and more time to write. XD
I'm afraid that a January fest would conflict with people creating for the many holiday fests as well as holiday season burnout. We may go with a September posting date. That should still give 2.5 months for creation and extensions as needed.
Thank you for the input! I think you are right and September may be the better option. It would still give people about 2.5 months at the minimum to create something for the fest, so it wouldn't be that much of a time crunch.
Thank you for bringing the timing problem to the mods attention. I was worried, too, that H/D Fan Fair and bottom!Draco Fest happening at the same time is forcing readers to chose which fest to read, on the expense of the other. Which would be such a loss, on both sides.
I am up for anything and I work fast - but I know most people do not... POSTING in October seems kind of soon (and it sort clashes with other fests, too) Maybe Posting in January does sound better?
October posting gives 3.5 months creation time, so a September fest would still give 2.5 months which I think is plenty for most people.
I'm afraid a January fest would suffer from post-holiday burnout. There are just so many fests in December and people are creating for them through most of December.
I'll love participating in bottomDraco fest. This community is one of my favorite. Though I agree with the others, I think I'll take a prompt from fan-fair, so October seems kinda soon. But whatever month you choose, I'll put time for this fest <3
I'm glad to hear you are excited for the fest! And I hope we're able to come up with a schedule that works for most people :) We'll certainly do our best!
OMGOMGOMGOGMOGMGOMGOGMG!!! Im so excited, ive been waiting since the last one for a new Fest here, IM SO GODDAMN HAPPY.
