This was so heartachingly sad. Harry's seclusion from the world thanks to the senile Dumbledore that made him a little mentally unstable was simply CRUEL.

I like how you used Harry's mask to symbolize a little of who he is.

*sighs* That was so good. Thank you.

I really love this - totally brilliant. Harrys (the Phantom) possessive love for Draco (Christine), manipulative Dumbledore, Ron and Hermonie as Dracos best friends - it all so totally works. So glad that unlike "Phantom of the Opera" Harry and Draco end up together. Great story. :)

one haunting, chilling and thrilling read. loved the suspense and how it was carefully woven in with the premise of the story. this was an inventive take on the prompt and most definitely effective. the roller coaster of emotions - the dangerous madness, intense pain, broken innocence, struggle for redemption, obsessive passion, undaunted hope - was very well-written. loved the vivid imagery and apt dialogue. the tension in harry and draco's relationship was so wonderfully written that even their imperfect (i.e. no fluffy happily-ever-after) ending added greater substance to the story. by the end of the fic, one gets to thinking it's just great draco is as obsessed with harry as harry is with him. :D

Love it! ^3^

What a neat take on canon, and a great reading of the Phantom plot. I love the way things change places but still make sense, like different houses and meetings and horcruxes, etc - great job!

Thank you! I'm glad you liked the slight shifts of canon within the greater AU of the story. I had a lot of fun with it. I've always thought the only reason Hermione wasn't a Ravenclaw was because she had a greater "heroic destiny" in Gryffindor with Harry. And, to be honest, I didn't know until the very end that the reason Dumbledore killed Lucius was because he was a horcrux. It was a mystery to me the whole time. I'm glad I figured it out. :)

Thanks for reading.

Yay, my prompt! :D

I finally had the time to read this and it was sooo great ♥ Harry was just as creepy and insane as I expected him to be and I really understood Draco wanting to be with Blaise for a while; much better than in the movie because Raoul is really quite boring in it, isn't he? LOL.

I loved the friendship between Draco, Hermione and Ron (and Neville), and Harry constantly pulling away from Draco because he thought he didn't deserve him. Powerful and jealous Harry was perfect, and I totally didn't expect Lucius to be a horcrux. I loved the first scene between Harry and Dumbledore, and the ending was just perfect ♥

Great job, mystery author! Can't wait for the reveals :D

I hate Raoul! He's ridiculously bland! I'm really a Harry/Draco purist, so the Draco/Blaise sequences were challenging for me, but I'm glad they came off positively and believably. Although I live in this beautiful world where Harry and Draco could only ever want each other (ever ever EVER!) I know that's so not the way it goes.

I think the Lucius as a horcrux thing came as a surprise because it came as a surprise to me as well. The first thing I knew was why Draco lost his magic. But I had no freaking idea why Dumbledore killed Lucius. It took me actually writing the scene to have my "oh, duh!" moment.

Anyway, thanks so much for your kind words. I'm glad you liked it! I've been waiting forever to be able to respond to this comment. This is the first prompted fest I've done, so the dynamic is new and really fun for me.

And I would so not complain if you took hogwartshoney's advice and made some pretty art to correspond with the fic. Your art is ridiculously droolworthy.

Wow! Very twisty and turny. heh. I love the exploration of Harry's madness/obsession and Draco's addiction/craving to/for Harry.
It must have been quite the brain storm when you tried to find a way to introduce Hermione and Ron as his horcrux co-hunters without them ever having met him.

Great work with importing the volatile emotional swings, jealousy and mental torment of the Phantom into Harry. Made for some great suspenseful moments.

I definitely wanted Hermione and Ron to be in the story. It would have been really easy to just have passing references and leave it there, but I'm a lover of the Trio and figuring out how they fit in my story was really what shaped the events and tone.

Thanks so much for commenting and for reading. :)

I really like how you stuck with the main aspects of the Phantom story in this fic. You really adapted it very well into a Harry Potter story but it was easy to draw clear parallels, like the level of Harry's love/obsession for Draco was very much like the Phantom's for Christine and the end with Harry letting them go but trying to keep Draco with him forever, I could totally hear the music in my head and see the whole ending sequence of PotO and I was excited. It was well done, great job. :)

And THANK YOU for mentioning teh pr0nz. This was my first long fic and my first attempt at explicit sex. My knees have been knocking in terror that it was awful.
