Help Me Write a One-Shot

Helloo!

I've really been trying to write another one-shot lately, but I'm in a bit of a writer's block. I have a couple ideas penned down, but I don't know where to go with them. So! I thought I'd try LJ for some help. I know that I want the main characters to be Draco and Harry, but that's about as far as I've got. Anyway, what I was hoping is that you guys can throw some ideas out there and, if one particularly peeks my interest, I'd write it for you!

Here's some examples of what I've written so far. Mostly, I write dark!fics the best, but I love going in to characters really well, so it does not have to be limited to Canon or AU. I do well with serious fics, but I love dark humor. (: Anyway, don't be shy, I'm looking for a challenge!

I have considered joining the upcoming fests, but I know absolutely shite about them, I don't know how well I'd do considering. I don't know the first thing about the rules or anything, but I do enjoy reading the submissions! I'd love to be a part of it, though, for sure!

Oh! I like that idea, it'd definitely be a challenge! Unfortunately, you gave me this after I already picked an idea given to me by a different community, but I'd love to dedicate my next one-shot to you, as well. I'm just so happy to have the support and help from you at all, so really, I appreciate it so so so so much! Thanks for taking the time out! AH! I'm going to write about a dow on his luck Draco and a bit of a post-war dazed Harry. It'll be featuring booze, too, so let me know. (;

Ah... sweet ol' hurt/comfort! That has always been my favourite fic genre! Though it'll be nice if Ginny isn't in the picture or if she has to be in, then it should only be fair for Draco to have someone else hanging on his arm too (which will hopefully make Harry growl with jealousy!)... *mock surrender* I'm just saying.

It's because with all the fics I've read so far, I noticed a pattern... when Ginny's in the picture with Harry, more often than not, Draco gets irrationally jealous and spiteful (towards Ginny) which is all wonderfully dramatic to read... but when it comes to Draco being in a serious relationship with another male/female, Harry's jealous episodes hardly ever gets as explosive as Draco's (when it comes to Ginny). The reason being that Harry as the nice Gryffindor is much too infuriatingly good to allow the notion of irrational jealousy get the better of him and well, in Draco's case... Draco is Draco and so spewing harsh insults about Ginny out of jealousy is just the norm, I suppose.

But, all that (the above) just makes me long for Harry to snap out of his Gryffindor nobility and just be human for once - get explosively (uncontrollably) jealous because Draco is dating someone that isn't him, you know?!

Oh, good ideas! I don't know how well I'd be able to pull off a jealous Harry just yet, but I'm trying to get more into his mind-set by making a lot his stories from his point of view, rather than from Draco's. Of course, the majority of the stories I'll write will have most to do with Draco... it's my nature. (;

I've never seen too much of a jealous Harry, either. I definitely want to do things that I haven't seen done before, or, at least are rare, so I'll hold on to that one. Hopefully I can work something out in my head around that!

Oh, take your time, dear. I personally think we need more love triangle fics with Draco in the middle... most love triangle fics have either an oblivious!Draco or a Draco that cheats on one partner with the other. Or threesome fics. They're all getting a little too cliche and predictable for me. It'll be nice for something different for a change.

Like a Draco who can't choose between the two (NOT threesome!) Say a passionate full-of-hot-smex Blaise/Draco where the relationship never matures beyond lust and sex... Draco may love Blaise but doesn't trust him because of obvious reasons like um, Blaise is a Death Eater, a true believer of Voldy's cause...Harry may start falling for Draco even with Blaise in the pic (insert explosive/spiteful jealous episodes) then blah blah... things evolve to Harry/Draco where Draco learns to love AND trust Harry because Harry is Harry, the noble Gryffindor blah blah.

It'll be nice if Draco doesn't sleep with Harry while Blaise is still in the equation and vice versa (infidelity fics is getting a little too cliche). It'll also be nice to have both suitors (vying for Draco's attention) are complete opposites to each other but with a side to them that Draco finds utterly appealing.. like say Blaise maybe a sadistic Muggle murderer but a gentle passionate lover? Harry the noble Gryffindor but a possessive, jealous lover...I don't know, incredibly dominant and/or rough in bed?

Or... an idea (which also can be combined with the above) I got from Fringe the TV series. The outcome of the War depends on who Draco chooses...Blaise (Or other D.E character... NOT Lucius because consensual incest is just yucks) Voldy's right hand man or Harry, the Boy Who Lived because neither can concentrate without Draco by their side. Draco chooses his Dark Side lover, then Voldy wins. Draco chooses Harry, then the Light wins.
