Recently, I have clicked on two stories that I found in fic searches from this BOTTOM!draco community and both of them had top!draco in them. If someone is searching for a fic and it is top!draco, please, when you post the link say that it has switching or top!draco involved. I am thoroughly traumatized. Just a reminder, SPECIFY WHETHER IT IS TOP!DRACO OR SWITCHING WHEN POSTING THE LINK!

Although i don't really get traumatized, but more annoyed than anything else, I kind of understand where you're coming from. I wish people were more sure that the link they're giving are actually bottom!draco, or whatever else.

We're really sorry about all the recs and fic searches that lead to top!draco. It's just hard for us to keep track of everything and checking every story that goes on in the community. It would really help if people would send us links if they find story that doesn't fit the theme of the community.

Frankly, if a fic is 100,000 words you can't really expect me to re-read the entire thing just to make sure there is absolutely no switching involved. You can't expect anyone else to, either. Lots of people in this comm aren't so...ah... particular (see? i'm being nice) about that kind of thing and honest to gosh don't remember who bottomed for who in each and every fic.

This person read someone's request and tried to help. And maybe they forgot if Harry and Draco switched. Fact is, they tried to help and made a mistake. Just to let you know, humans sometimes do that. So instead of making this very angry post that will more than likely just aid in scaring off future helpers, you could have simply left a warning in that post, and maybe sent the reccer a mature and polite message that their rec contained top!Draco, with a request to be more careful in the future.

And I shall make my leave before I become even more irritated.

i was just stating an opinion. The name of the community is pretty clear but I just don't think that people realize this. sorry if it upset anyone but come on, its like opening a present on your birthday that should be an awesome toy/gadget/something that was hugely hinted at for a long period of time and getting a god awful itchy sweater, it's just misleading and itchy!

I agree that it's irritating when you expect bottom!Draco and get top!Draco (which I don't read either). But if you point it out to the mods, this comm is good at handling that sort of mistake and getting you back to your bottom!Draco fun.

It wasn't done tactfully, and that's the problem. This is a b!d community, yes, but it doesn't give anyone a right to insult what other people may like. And yes, your post was insulting. The whole Top/Bottom issue is a sensitive subject in any fandom, but moreso in this one. It's more than just bottom!draco. It's the entire Harry/Draco fandom. This place is generally friendly until the topic of T/b arises (and for good reason, if I may add). That's why it should be dealt with delicately.

Using your own example as a basis for my example, would you let the person who gave you the gift know that you absolutely hated the sweater? No, you'd nicely tell them that it wasn't what you wanted and it made you feel uncomfortable. You'd also refrain from making a huge scene about the sweater because other people, not just the person who bought the sweater, are going to react. They're going to get defensive and start arguing simply because you were being insensitive.

You, to put it simply, caused a scene when it really wan't necessary.

I don't mean to sound rude or anything, so sorry if it came out that way. I just think people should take more care not to purposely belittle other people's interests.

I read Tyger, Tyger and Of Phoenix and Unicorns(or something like that) both from Fanfiction.net. The tyger one is a strange switch because they are still tigers but the principles are the same. I honestly did not mean to cause an uproar and will keep my opinions to myself in the future. Sorry for the inconvenience. to the Mod, I really do enjoy what you people have put together here, most of the content is awesome and helps me get through some really rainy days (figuratively and actually). Thank you so much!

Also, please don't apologize for reminding members that in a BOTTOM!DRACO community members should expect all recs to be either switching or completely b!d. Oh wow, community blew up without me. On a matter that I thought was over and done. I am sorely disappointed, I pretty much thought I made a very cutting refresher on the rules (http://community.livejournal.com/bottom_draco/518636.html) last year.

Be it as it may, let us all abide to the rules. If anyone has a fucking problem with it, please inform the mods. We will either direct you to a top!Draco site OR address your concerns in the nicest way possible. Thanks.
