I need some help...

- Does anyone know the fic called "The Lights" (Sorry I don't remember the author name). It's M-Preg. Draco is the one who pregnant and I think their daughter's name is Godiva.

- Could you guys recommend me some good M-Preg or good angsty Harry/Draco fics for me (The one that you think it's not well-known but really good or it's the new one). It'd be nice if it's Bottom!Draco.

Thank you so much.

My favorite mpreg stories are Things That Change by Ociwen and If Wishes Were Children by oldenuf2nb. They are wonderfully written and quite well-known so I'm sure you've read them before.
Have you checked out this links yet?

The recs in it are just splendid.

Painless_j also has a great list of mpreg fics under diff character. However I am not sure the fics included under mpreg! draco are all bottom! draco fics though. Be aware.

I totally second Things That Change. It will blow you away COMPLETELY.

Aaaand, The Ridiculous Notion by Nattfish is hilarious. It's PG13, so it's safe :))

Sperm cow has some Top!Draco, only got as far as that part and couldn't make myself read it!

Just though I'd warn everyone! I only read bottom!Draco and so do a few people on here, so here's ample warning! :D

Really? Huh. I can't remember. I don't pay mind to that kind of thing, so that's probably why =p

I wish I was the same, years of being bombarded by bottom!Harry has me hating it!

The rest of your links have been keeping me sane however ;D

I've always been very partial to them switching positions, as I pretty much hate it when one character is given the "female" role (ridiculous, as they're both male, IMO. They both have cocks, not girl parts, and I love 'em for it <3). I love me a nice bottom!Draco and bottom!Harry as much as the next girl (or guy!), but it's the fics where they switch, where there are no definite roles and it's just two men, no substitutes for women, that gets my blood pumping. *Squishes those fics*

When it comes to their relationship, I like keeping it close to canon (in terms of characterization), though I do venture out a lot. I always find it more likely that Harry would be the "bottom", as he's shorter and definitely more starved for love and affection. But he's way too stubborn to let Draco and all his sexy manliness be on top all the time (in more than one sense), so they'd definitely fight for that position, I think. And not just physically, but mentally, as well. I think they're both far too willful to be "bottoms", especially mentally and emotionally.

Circumstances could change that, though.

So in the end, it really depends on the situation that surrounds them.

Ok. Sorry about that. I completely went on and on and bloody on. I can't help myself when I talk H/D.

Sorry!

ah, but some of us are just more partial to bottom!draco. personally, harry acting slutty and bottoming just turns me off and makes me queasy, but that's just me. this is why i stick to bottom!draco community a lot more than the general harrydraco com. at least here, i'm mentally prepared to skip a few sex scenes to read on if i need to.

Comments like this confuse me, because I can never tell what people mean when they say "bottom!Draco". Do they mean sexually or personality-wise? Both? And what if neither Harry or Draco acts "bottom-ish" in any way, but Harry just likes to be on the receiving end in sex? Because to me, what sexual position a person usually partakes in bears no relevance to their personality. It's like saying that men who bottom are girly, and that's not true at all.

Extreme!bottom fics bother me some as they remind me a great deal of Het (*shudders*). Like I said, who bottoms or who doesn't really doesn't bother me at all. I don't pay much mind to it, tbh, unless it's really obvious (like, say, Jordan Grant's "Owned" fic, or Loui's "Teacher's Pet" series).

As I was saying, though, the deal with bottom!Draco or bottom!Harry confuses me a lot. I never understand what people are implying by that. I think it would be a lot easier all around if people just referred to it as "submissive" instead, since that pretty much rounds it up, both physically and character-wise.

I'm the same as you, if the fic is good enough I'll just skip through the Top!Draco scenes, although very rarely does that happen, my sister is a die hard bottom!Harry reader and just does not understand how I see Draco as the more Bottom-y of the pair!

It annoys me however, just like yourself, when Harry acts like a bottom, it just does not seem right at all to me.

I find that the majority of fics these days feature a bottom!harry, which I mostly blame on the film adaptation Harry being so short, sometimes I wonder how different fandom would be if Daniel Radcliff was taller ...

slightly late to the party haha but while I largly agree with your comments about switching, do keep in mind that this is a BOTTOMDRACO community and the rules of this community states that by bottom Draco we mean bottom in sex. A lot of the people in this community are personally squicked by the idea of Draco topping in sex and that's really all there is to it. Switching is supposed to be warned if only out of courtesy.

THAT ASIDE I personally don't like bottom!Harry mostly because that side of fandom kind of ruined it for me early on. Bad fics and honestly I'm not a big Harry fan so reading about him so prominently in fanfic is a bit irking. That's just me though. When it comes to other slash pairings, switching is awesome even if I have my preferred t/b roles for them.

'Tis precisely why it's such a good place to hold this conversation! I'm not exactly as unbiased as I'd like to be about this subject as I have a bit of an issue with submissiveness and severe femininity (in the sense of personality and such) generally. Even in Het. It's a reason why I prefer reading Slash, and why many anime/manga series aggravate the heck out of me. The Japanese, especially I think, like females like that. It's a bit more bearable for men, but with women it's really so annoying. You wouldn't believe how many female characters in anime/manga I've had to ignore just so I could continue a series. It's fine as long as they're not a major part of the story, but...

I know this is bottom!Draco comm. I lurk here quite a lot. I don't pay mind to who bottoms or tops, though, so when people ask for recs I really just give them based on the request (plot, theme, scenes, and such). Switching is even harder to tell since I could skim a story to see if it's bottom!Draco, see that it is, and then find out later there's a whole lot of bottom!Harry towards the end, or scattered throughout the fic.

Bad fics ruin lots of things. I spent a good deal of my early fandom days at FF.net, and.... well...you see a lot of the stories they have there. It made my dislike of keeping a character in a submissive role a lot larger.

I've always thought the opposite. Harry is a very tough, even aggressive kid. Draco, with his childishness and his daddy issues, is much more emotionally fragile. Harry is always portrayed as dominant. He wins every contest between himself and Draco. As a teenager, Draco falls apart when he is faced with the reality of Voldy. Harry has been facing that Voldy since he was 11, and he just gets stronger. Harry is much tougher, more 'masculine', if you will, than Draco.

I know the actor that plays Harry is short, but I never think of the movie characters when I read fanfic. Does it say in the books that Harry is short?

With Painless_J's link (http://painless-j.net/blog/2007/11/02/themed-list-mpreg-by-character/#Draco), don't forget to read Genesis--it is not as long as Things That Change but it's equally as poignant and haunting. It is also very well-written and all sorts of beautiful. I read this around uh, five years ago, I think, and it is what's allowed me to entertain mpreg-themed fanfiction. It has a very plausible plot, one that is thorough and enchanting.

More
Not Quite as Expected by Kishijoten--beautiful imagery, well-written. Heart breaking as well. Hopeful ending. Beautiful, gorgeous, and real.
Slytherella--one of the contemporaries; gorgeous and fairytale-like in theme. Has a dreamy sequence.
Six Ways In Which Harry Potter Was Like Bambi's Dad by Brummell--You can never go wrong with Brummell. She is a contemporary legend--writes like she's one of the BNFs sans the ego. Impeccable writing style. Charmed. Relatively short also.

You've probably already read it, but 'Mansion built upon sand' by Jinko never gets old! I read it the 2nd time this week, it's fantastic. Sorry I don't have a link (my internet connection isnt so great at the moment) but it's on Fanfiction.net if you haven't read it or have forgotten! It is VERY angsty... you kinda get the impression the author hates Draco sometimes :').
