A/N: This is a slave story that does not follow the normal route but veers somewhat dramatically from the beaten path *winces* please don't hate me for that.  But I despise the normal storyline where the slave is treated like scum, eventually derives some sort of pleasure from his punishments and ends up falling for his captor.  Who, naturally, alternately discovers his own feelings and tries to make a normal life for them.  Fine for a one-time read, however, as you reach the sixtieth variation of this it gets a bit stale.  Besides, I have never thought Draco capable of that much evil.  I can only hope I've provided an original (and enjoyable) take on a rather set storyline.

OMG I was a mess by the time I reached the last chapter. For one, I'm the kind of person who hardly ever cries while watching/reading anything angst-laden. I don't believe I've ever cried at the movies (ever!)... no matter how sad or touching the story. I'd feel wretched, yes. But cry? Nuh uh, I couldn't. The tears just wouldn't come.

But omgomgomg by your Chapter 9, I was biting my fist and sniffling terribly.... Chapter 14 had me sobbing my eyes out and almost squashing my (confused) pet cat in a weak attempt to ease the ache in my chest, while trying to breathe through my nose (leaking with tears-induced snot). And yet, I find myself unable to bloody stop reading already! And so, by the time I reached the last chapter, you have single-handedly reduced me into a whimpering puddle of teary goo.

*sniff sniff* I have never cried so badly (hey, this is my first time!) and yet felt so very contented with... well, everything I've read and felt for, from the first chapter to the last. You officially have my deepest respect for that. *hugs you*

Wow. *blinks in awe* I'm so impressed, I'm the exact opposite. I'll cry at the drop of a hat for some fictional situation but you basically have to shatter my femur to get me to cry in real life, lol.

Lots of people told me that the In Loving Memory chapter got 'em good and I'm still shocked by that to this day. I knew it was sad, but cryfest-worthy? Not a chance. Here I am, proved wrong again, and I'm thrilled by it still! I looove making people cry almost as much as I love dragging fluffsters into my angst.

LOL. I'm used to wringing sympathy (and presents) from my dad... so in RL, I'm pretty much a pro at crying on cue. But making me so overwhelmed with emotion that I can't help but explode into a wreckage of genuine tears (and snot)? Fat chance. Only happened thrice so far in my whole 24 years of life: The day my Nana passed away, the day my beloved pet dog died and the day I caught (or rather, walked into...) my boyfriend (now ex) cheating on me with his male roommate. I'd say Servile is my fourth.

I abhor wimpy, helpless, submissive to the point of being spineless!Harry (I always see my Harry as the unfalteringly brave Hero. Don't mind him being a bottom, but NOT spinelessly submissive) with a passion and tend to avoid reading slave!fics with Harry as the slave. But in yours, it worked. Your Draco, a bottom in his relationships (so far) but strong, dominant and brave to the point of being Gryffindorish... worked too. Flawed Hero!Draco and a Broken and Conflicted!Harry - a refreshing change of roles.

I can't help but hope that as you continue this particular arch, for Harry to stand up, stand tall and well, be a Lion again. Maybe not the same Gryffindor Leader he was, but someone capable of defending, protecting and sheltering Draco for a change. Someone Draco can fall back on and trust to take the reins and charge forward. Draco needs some comforting and protection too!

I'm not a fan of that Harry either (though I'm not a big fan of him in general)! It was like walking a tightrope the entire time I was writing this fic because if he whinged just a little too much or acted a bit too downtrodden, I'd just want to yell 'oh, buck up, you great loser!' And, as soon as I had that thought, I'd go back and rewrite the scene until I felt bad for Harry and no longer wanted to kick his ass into gear. This is one of the very few stories (that I've written or even on the whole of fanfiction) where I've actually liked Harry and it was a bitch to get there because it would've been so easy to hate him here, lol.

I hope to get to a place where Harry can be the protector for once, I just don't know that I (well, Draco) will ever concede that Draco needs it.

I would say yes. It's written from Harry's PoV but the entire purpose is the mystery of Draco and his attempt to solve it. I got into fanfic because I'm a Draco-centric girl and it's fair to say that I often put my favoritism for him on display.

Lol! I'd recommend Subterfuge to you (on my ff.net account), that whole fic revolves around the awesomeness that is Draco Malfoy and it is easily the most blatant display of my fervent worship of him. He is just so unashamedly bad-ass. The only suck bit about it is that it isn't finished (or edited by wiser, older writer-self)... but it will be, someday. Scout's honor!
